The State of the American Steel Industry

Executives from steel companies and the United Steelworkers were on Capitol Hill to testify before the Congressional Steel Caucus. The witnesses discussed the state of the steel industry and key steel industry policy priorities for Congress and the administration. The meeting was hosted by Steel Caucus Chairman and Vice-Chairman Reps. Rick Crawford (R-AR) and Frank Mrvan (D-IN).

Numerous other members of the Steel Caucus attended in support of the steel industry in their congressional districts, including: Reps. Mark Alford (R-MO), Nikki Budzinski (D-IL), Steve Cohen (D-TN), Warren Davidson (R-PA), Donald “Don” Davis (D-NC), Chris Deluzio (D-PA), Mike Flood (R-NE), Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA),  Dave Joyce (R-OH), Marcy Kaptur (D-OH), Mike Kelly (R-PA), Mark Messmer (R-IN), Carol Miller (R-WV), Riley Moore (R-WV), Michael Rulli (R-OH), Darren Soto (D-FL), Pete Stauber (R-OH), Mike Turner (R-OH), and Rep. Beth Van Duyne (R-TX).

Michael Millsap – District 7 Director, United Steelworkers (USW)
Steve Robins – Vice President and Chairman of Committee on Pipe and Tube Imports, Atkore Inc.
