AISI Addresses Industrial Decarbonization Event at National Press Club

Last week, AISI President and CEO Kevin Dempsey appeared at an event at the National Press Club sponsored by ClearPath and the Clean Air Task Force entitled “America’s Next Revolution: Clean Industrial.” The summit featured policymakers and stakeholders from business and environmental groups focusing on strategies and accomplishments for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from industrial sources. Dempsey was a key speaker on a panel along with representatives from the cement and asphalt sectors and spoke about the American steel industry’s world-leading production of clean steel, opportunities for further decarbonization in the future and the importance of adopting legislation to create carbon border tariffs on imported goods with higher associated GHG emissions intensity than the emissions intensity of competing U.S.-made goods.
