The American steel industry is essential to U.S. national and economic security and our critical infrastructure. The industry supports nearly two million American jobs, and is the cleanest and most energy efficient of the major steel industries in the world. The domestic industry works with Congress and the administration to combat predatory trade practices, including preserving the steel tariffs and quotas currently in place; ensure any new climate policies do not put the industry at a competitive disadvantage; and, make significant new investments in infrastructure with strong Buy America requirements.
