AISI Comment on USTR Initiation Of A Section 301 Investigation Into China’s Implementation Of The Phase One Agreement
October 24, 2025WASHINGTON, D.C. – Kevin Dempsey, president and CEO of the American Iron and Steel Institute, today provided the following statement on the United States Trade Representative (USTR) initiating a Section 301 investigation into China’s implementation of the 2020 U.S.-China Phase One trade agreement:
“AISI commends Ambassador Greer and the Trump administration for their leadership in holding China accountable through the initiation of a Section 301 investigation on implementation of the U.S.-China Phase One Agreement. China’s unfair trade practices remain a significant threat to American manufacturing industries, including steel. This investigation is yet another important step by the Trump administration to support our domestic manufacturing base and its workers.”
