AISI Comments on Announcement of Katherine Tai as USTR Nominee
December 10, 2020WASHINGTON, DC- Kevin Dempsey, president and CEO of the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), issued the following statement today:
“The American Iron and Steel Institute welcomes the president-elect’s nomination of Katherine Tai to be the U.S. Trade Representative. She is eminently qualified to serve in this position, having served with distinction previously at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) and on Capitol Hill. Her extensive work on USMCA and China issues are important to the steel industry, and we have always found Katherine to be willing to listen to industry concerns on issues that are critical to steel producers and their workers. We look forward to working with Katherine and members of the incoming administration to ensure aggressive trade enforcement and to address the international trade challenges facing the American steel industry.”
