WASHINGTON, D.C. – Thomas J. Gibson, president and CEO of the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), commented on the passing of former Ohio congressman Ralph Regula today:
“During Rep. Regula’s distinguished tenure representing Ohio in the U.S. Congress, he was a staunch supporter of the steel industry and our workers. He was one of the founders of the House Steel Caucus, and an ardent advocate for strong enforcement of our trade laws and leveling the playing field for American steel. He will be missed by so many in the steel industry whose lives he touched, and whose issues he championed with seven Administrations through nearly four decades of public service. Our thoughts are with his family and all of the people of Ohio that he represented so passionately.”
