to Hold Environmental Briefing on Capitol Hill
AISI
will host its third annual environmental briefing on
Capitol Hill on April 21 from 2:30 - 3:30pm in the Rayburn
House Office Building Room 2253. The briefing will highlight
the industry's efforts to reduce its environmental footprint
through research projects at universities around the
country. Speakers at the briefing will include keynote
speaker H.Y. Sohn, Ph.D. from the University of Utah
and AISI President and CEO Andrew G. Sharkey, III.

standing-room-only attendance on April 9, 2008.

Hosts 7th Annual Great Designs in Steel Seminar
AISI's
7th annual Great Designs in Steel Seminar once again drew
standing-room-only attendance with over 1,000 automotive
engineers and designers, Tier One and Tier Two suppliers
and academia at the April 9, 2008 event in Livonia, Mich.
The seminar is used to demonstrate how new steel technologies
can help with key issues in the automotive industry -
such as recyclability, fuel economy, mass optimization
and safety - and featured more than 30 high-level presentations
by automotive engineers and steel experts.

SRI
Launches Steel Sustainability Web Site
The
Steel Recycling Institute (SRI) has launched a new Web
site dedicated to providing information about the sustainable
benefits of steel in the automotive, construction and
container markets. The site is of interest to both consumers
and businessesit covers topics such as energy
reduction, air and water releases, material efficiency,
scrap utilization, emissions reduction and steel recycling,
while focusing on the importance of steel in everyday
lives and for future generations. It also provides a
profile of the North American steel industry.

Steel Industry Leaders to Explore Global Issues at 2008 General Meeting
While
the steel outlook in 2008 is strong, the North American
steel industry is facing significant challenges in addressing
global issues for the steel and manufacturing sectors
in several areas. A panel of major global steel producers
and mining companies will explore "The Global Steel
Battleground: Raw Materials, Energy and Climate Change"
during AISI's 2008 General Meeting, which will be held
May 4-6 at The Phoenician in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Silver Ogilvy Award, presented by the Advertising
Research Foundation (ARF).

AISI'S
New Steel Campaign Wins the Silver Ogilvy Award
AISI's
New Steel Campaign has been honored with the Silver
David Ogilvy Award by the Advertising Research Foundation
(ARF). The Campaign was recognized in the "Governmental,
Public Service, Non-Profit" category. The ARF David
Ogilvy Award has been celebrating the role of research
in making good advertising better for the past 14 years.
