The Congressional Steel Caucus discussed the state of the steel industry at a hearing with industry leaders Thursday May 26, 2011 in Washington, D.C.
Chairman Tim Murphy (R-Pa.) -- at left in photo -- and Vice Chairman Pete Visclosky (D-Ind.) scheduled a hearing of the bipartisan congressional steel caucus to investigate the state of the domestic steel industry and policies and developments affecting its success.
The Steel Caucus heard testimony by steel industry executives addressing the concerns of the U.S. steel industry related to international trade agreements, energy and raw materials, federal regulation and other industry concerns.
Among those giving testimony to the Congressional Steel Caucus Thursday morning were AISI Director Lou Schorsch, president and CEO of Flat Carbon Americas for ArcelorMittal -- shown at right in photo.
