WASHINGTON, D.C. – The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported today that for the month of February 2013, U.S. steel mills shipped 7,436,388 net tons, a 9.4 percent decrease from the 8,210,726 net tons shipped in the previous month, January 2013, and a 11.5 percent decrease from the 8,407,343 net tons shipped in February 2012. Shipments year-to-date (YTD) in 2013 are 15,647,114 net tons, a 7.4 percent decrease vs. 2012 shipments of 16,905,275 net tons for two months.
