Commercial Focus

Commercial Buildings
The commercial buildings market includes warehouses, stores/food service, office/bank buildings, schools/colleges, and apartment and assisted living complexes. AISI focuses on framing systems, metal buildings, and roofing and siding.

Commercial Roofing
Cool metal roofs are energy-efficient, durable, fire and wind-resistant, and have low life-cycle costs.

Residential Focus

Residential Framing
This is the largest market for steel, representing 50 percent annual construction spending by market. AISI’s efforts in the residential framing market are managed by the Steel Framing Alliance.

Residential Roofing
Homeowners are increasingly turning to metal roofing for their homes because of the product’s durability, resistance to fire, wind damage and termites, and 50-year-life expectancy. The Metal Roofing Alliance puts homeowners in contact with contractors through its Find a Contractor Program.
Bridges and Utility Poles

Bridges
Nearly one-third of America’s bridges are either structurally deficient or functionally obsolete. High-Performance and weathering steels are providing cost-effective solutions for bridge owners and designers.

Utility Poles
Millions of utility distribution poles need to be replaced each year. More than 600 utility companies in the U.S. are realizing cost and maintenance efficiencies by switching to steel poles.
