AISI’s 122nd General Meeting wraps up after meeting May 4-6, 2014 at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, Scottsdale, Arizona. AISI met jointly with the Metals Service Center Institute (MSCI) to discuss critical issues for producers and service centers to succeed in the global marketplace.

The General Meeting provided an opportunity for steel producers and service centers to strengthen relationships, share ideas and work together to improve the competitiveness of North American manufacturing. Topics covered range from rebuilding America’s transportation and infrastructure to exploring abundant and affordable energy, an economic outlook, analysis of the political landscape, global trade and challenges with market-distorting trade practices, and trends in steel market sectors.

Featured keynote speaker Peter H. Diamandis, M.D., chairman and CEO of X Prize Foundation and Singularity University, talks about game changing technologies at the AISI 2014 General Meeting. In his talk, Diamandis also highlighted the use of robotics, artificial intelligence and 3D printing for future manufacturing.
