AISI Releases Report to the 111th Congress

Report unveiled during Congressional Steel Caucus Hearing on Capitol Hill

Washington, D.C., 02/4/2009 – The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) released the AISI Report to the 111th Congress today on Capitol Hill during a Congressional Steel Caucus Hearing. The Report is designed to highlight the industry’s public policy priorities to the new Congress and features four companion booklets focused on the significant issues of: global competitiveness, sustainability, energy security, and transportation and infrastructure.

“We hope that this Report will help us to advance the industry’s policy objectives by informing policymakers of the industry’s stance on these significant policy issues,” said Thomas J. Gibson, president and CEO, AISI. “The 111th Congress must collaborate with the Administration to eliminate policies that put U.S. manufacturers at a competitive disadvantage to their foreign competitors.”

AISI’s Report to the 111th Congress can be found electronically on AISI’s Web site, www.steel.org. In addition, if you would like to request a hard copy version of the Report, please send an e-mail to miselin@steel.org, including your name, company and mailing address.
