Framing

ImageBoth nonresidential and residential construction provide significant growth opportunities for steel framing.  These markets are being developed by the Steel Framing Alliance.

Steel framing opportunities exist for warehouses, stores/food service, offices/bank buildings, schools/colleges, and apartment/assisted living complexes. AISI works with its partners to grow the markets for steel in framing systems, metal buildings, and roofing and siding.

Builders can realize significant savings by using steel. Zurich Insurance offers up to 75 percent savings in insurance premiums for builders who choose steel for both nonresidential and residential construction. With these rates, builders can save about $100,000 in insurance premiums on a $15 million project.

Steel framing opportunities also exist in single-family housing, apartments and condominiums. Home builders and homeowners select steel for its durability; resistance to fire, insect damage and extreme weather conditions; and long-term cost effectiveness.
