across the United States.
KAB's Vision Statement:
Keep America Beautiful envisions a world where quality of life is
preserved and enhanced through community actions that are inspired and
led by its system and network. The recognized leader in changing
attitudes and behaviors about issues affecting community environments,
Keep America Beautiful will be relied upon to help communities achieve
measurable results in the process of creating clean, beautiful, safe,
healthy, sustainable and economically-sound places to live, work and
enjoy.
Through diverse partnerships representing government, business and
citizen volunteers, Keep America Beautiful will continue to address
litter prevention, waste reduction and beautification as the "threshold"
quality of life issues in any vibrant community, affecting lands,
waterways, roads, open spaces and urban places. Affirming its legacy and
the power of education and individual action, Keep America Beautiful
envisions the ultimate emergence of a sense of personal stewardship in
future generations that will enhance our quality of life, keeping
America and the world beautiful.
The American Iron and Steel Institute, through its business unit the
Steel Recycling Institute (SRI), continues to be a proud member of KAB
and Bill Heenan, President of SRI, currently sits on the Board of
Directors of KAB.
